The research department for Cyber-Physical Systems of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) at the site Bremen is working on the technical development of intelligent, networked systems, and is directed by Prof. Dr. Rolf Drechsler. The focus of the research and development is the safety, security and correctness of these systems, which continue to grow in complexity, and which are employed in smartphones, cars, and airplanes, amongst others. Scientists are closely collaborating with the computer architecture group at the University of Bremen.

DFKI, with sites in Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken and Bremen as well as a project office in Berlin, is the largest research center for artificial intelligence world-wide.
